I’m an idiot,

but it could be worse.

So ol’ Nobrainer was trying to plan ahead for the apparent March meeting of the JDGA. As I’m quasi-busy these days, I reckoned I’d check out the available airfares on priceline. The result? From Charlottesville to GSP for less than $200. I don’t like to fly, but this price was pretty convincing…. That was until I realized that the whole point of the trip was to GOLF. I am not set up to fly as a golfer. The money it would cost to make that preparation would be self defeating.

It took me a long time to come to that realization though. I was thinking that my brother may be a good member who could round out the spring plebe class. I realized that his flying to town would restrict his ability to bring a set of clubs. A few minutes later I realized I would have the same issues.

I’m quite glad I realized all this before I booked tickets.

And the real moral? No matter how many degrees you have, you can still be a complete retard.

Spring JDGA Event

Some mention has been made of enacting a baseball, and assumedly golf, weekend in Clemson this spring.

If baseball is involved, here are the potential dates:

2/25 thru 2/27 – Cal – Irvine
3/12 – SC
3/18 thru 3/20 – UNC
4/8 thru 4/10 – Duke
4/15 thru 4/17 – UVA
4/29 thru 5/1 – GT

Given fair warning, I believe I can make it to any of these events. I have no Friday classes. So as long as I’m back here by 5 on Sunday I’m in good shape.

Your thoughts?

By the way, have certain other LXA alums been alerted to our blogs?

Note: The SC game is during my Spring Recess. Also, what’s the plan if we actually want to see a game? Watch it on Friday night and golf on Saturday? Or do we try to golf and watch some ball the same day?

Founded: the JDGA
Filed under: JDGA — nobrainer @ 10:08 pm

That’s right, the JDGA is hereby informally formed. So, whether legal and/or popular, the Jack Daniels Golf Association is now in existence. In my opinion, the four founding fathers are AssHead, Nobrainer, Skippy, and Wha. Rules will be formed at a later date.

You will note that the category of this post is JDGA. I encourage all founding fathers and subsequent members (should that ever happen) to post their favorite stories here under the JDGA category.

I reckon we ought to document our antics before the effects of age and alcohol completely destroy our memories.

As this is the first post, I will give the final scores of the first meeting of the JDGA which occurred August 9, 2003 during the weekend billed as “Faloon-A-Palooza” at the Walker Course in Clemson, SC.

AssHead: 53+46=99
Nobrainer: 46+47=93
Skippy: 44+48=92
Wha: 55+58=113

Notes:
- Skippy should never take his cell phone onto the course with him (am I thinking about the right weekend?). AssHead should always have his phone in case “Bilemann” calls.
- We did not impress the beer girl.
