“Does that mean I’m visionary? You betcha,” [Gingrich] said

Rehashing old sci-fi ideas is real visionary.

Can we relegate this flabby hunk of whale shit to “Celebrity” Apprentice where he more rightfully belongs?

Rand Paul and the TSA
Filed under: General — nobrainer @ 4:37 pm

So according to Rand Paul, he went through the body imagining machine. An anomaly was detected. He offered to go through the machine again, but the TSA insisted on a patdown. All what he says. The TSA says he was “escorted away from a Transportation Security Administration checkpoint,” and “[h]e later completed the screening process and boarded a later flight.”

The TSA isn’t saying very much. But it sounds to me like they just sent him to the back of the screening line to… go through the body imaging machine again?

I’m interested to hear the rest of the story.

The National Review for pimping out my email address to Newt Gingrich. Looks like that subscription I received many years ago is just the gift that keeps on giving.

More things I hate
Filed under: General — nobrainer @ 11:34 pm

Yesterday I ran across an old post enumerating things I hate. The list holds up well. Here’s a few more:

  • Toyota – Maybe I’m suffering from an observational bias, but I see a lot of Toyotas on the road at dusk/night without their lights on. Possibly their automated headlight systems suck. And/or possibly Toyota drivers are morons.
  • Nissan – I had Nissan on the top of my list for my next new car. After seeing their ridiculous truck commercials ad nauseum, I now put Nissan on the same level as Government Motors. Seriously, for the stupid shit they show their trucks doing in their commercials, they might as well just say that their trucks fly and emit only fairy dust.
  • Getting an email from my boss at 10PM basically wanting information for first thing in the morning. On a company holiday.
  • Addendum [2012-01-02]

  • Comments on news sites – Any serious news outlet shouldn’t even have comments. If comments are to be allowed, however, they should be kept out of sight. It is almost a near certainty that none of the comments are worth reading anyway. So it is particularly annoying when some tiny, garbage little article comes loaded with 300 useless comments.
