It was a bad weekend for pine trees, deer, and USCe Gamecocks

Like many folks, I traveled last week to spend time with my family. Yesterday I made the 550 mile return trip from Ohio to the DC area. During those many hours of driving I noticed that it was a bad weekend for pine trees. The Christmas harvest has begun and many people were hauling home fresh trees.

Many people were also hauling home freshly killed deer. Unfortunately there were not enough of those people. The number of deer that observed that were killed by hunters was significantly smaller than the number that were lying dead on the side of the road. So if you have a rifle, I implore you to venture into the woods and kill even more deer so that we can keep them off the roadways.

And as is most common, South Carolina lost to Clemson. Their “has a national championship from another school” coach led them to a 6-6 regular season record, another loss to the in-state rival, and a slim chance of making a bowl appearance. Maybe they should be put out their misery, too.
