The 2007 experience is over and everyone I know survived. I did well, saw some horses, and took some pictures. The gallery is posted for your convenience. Otherwise you can click more and see most of the pictures with my commentary added.

We got stuck behind a Forerunner full of 8 people. The 3 colorfully dressed guys in the back looked miserable until they noticed I was taking a picture.

You know it’s a good day at the races when the vultures are circling.

The ladies.

We saw this jockey early on in the day and decided to root for him. #12 spent the pre-race trying to buck the jockey and they didn’t finish first lap.

I told ya I saw some horses.

Eventually you’ll see parts of this picture again when I’m talking about politicians.

I don’t apply the phrase “bull dyke” to just every female, mulleted ABC officer…

UVA students apparently consider themselves to be too good to pick up after themselves.

BONUS PICTURE: I just had this one sent to me.

Rachel and me.

Hahaha. Sorry I missed out this year. How many people did you see carried off on one of those little carts w/alcohol posioning? It’s not too hard to see a horse in the Green section if I remember correctly. Did you meet any tools from Harvard? Did you remember to honor your country?
Like last year, I was in the green section again. I like that there is actually a fence between between green & orange (i.e., between “adults” & undergrads). Unfortunately I wasn’t as close to the track, which meant it wasn’t as easy to see the horses.
I did not see any people being carted away. Nor was I one of them.
Nor did I meet any tools from Harvard this year. Nor did I see any kids spectacularly bite the dust as the National Anthem played.
Well, those bits would probably only be entertaining one time only. *sigh* I need to attend a horserace next year…..
I agree–the green/orange divide works well and you don’t have to worry about crossing from infield to outfield.
