Must have misplaced a decimal point

“The other day, the oil companies reported the highest profits in the history of the world. I want to take those profits, and I want to put them into a strategic energy fund that will begin to fund alternative smart, energy, alternatives and technologies that will begin to actually move us toward the direction of independence.” –Sen. Hillary Clinton [emphasis mine]

1 – Energy independence is stupid beyond stupid. For to be truly independent, we would have to export the energy used for imported goods. And, logically, we would have to independently produce the goods that make electricity flow and cars run and computers compute. Things like silicon, gold, copper, platinum, lithium, etc. Energy independence is silly gimmick.

2 – Exxon, with it’s 39.5 billion dollar profit — a 10.5% profit margin on 377.5 billion in sales — needs to pay the government more in Hillary’s eyes. This despite the fact they already paid 100.7 billion in taxes.

3 – Having already paid 100.7 billion in taxes, it will only be after the government gouges into oil company profits that the government can begin — yes BEGIN — to fund alternatives.

3A – Hillary ignores any and all previous efforts by the government (what they don’t work?) or she’s being willfully ignorant for political gain (no! not the government!).

3B – Decades and trillions of dollars have been wasted by governmental malfeasance and inaction… A government of which her husband presided for 8 years and of which she has been a member of the Senate for 6.
