The OnRebate problem continues

As you may recall, I had some issues with the infamous rebate issuance company known as OnRebate.com. These people are almost completely inept.

On December 19th, my “No-Wait Rebate” was late and violated the guaranteed delivery time.

I called and was told in no uncertain terms that I was not registered for the “No-Wait Rebate” and there was no way to change that, even though their website offers a “Change Pay Type” option.

This last week they sent me my rebate, about 4 weeks after approving it.

And they charged me the “No-Wait Rebate” fee.

I’ll be calling them, again, tomorrow to get their explanation.

UPDATE: I talked to a rep at OnRebate and was told that whoever I talked to previously must have given me some misinformation. Of course I was set up for the No-Wait rebate. It was set up that all along. (I didn’t ask why their website kept changing my status back to the regular rebate). But why was it so late? They screwed up, but they assure me they’ll send me another check within about 10 days to cover the difference.

I have had the same lies you have written about. I would say its been 2.5 months of lies and ignoring me on the part of ONREBATE.COM related to rebates that are 6 months old. I had several NoWaitRebates that were also delayed a few weeks but I still haven’t seen a “difference” check despite several assurances. Everytime I call they tell me another lie about how I will get it next week or tomorrow until recently they just said later in the month. They have must have no money. We need to start an anti Tigerdirect/Onrebate/Systemmax campaign to bring them down. We need to kill their stock and drive away customers buy spreading the noice about thier dishonesty. I might sound bitter but I really have become disgusted. Good Luck.

I’ve been adding my dealings with them on ripoffreport.com. Another interesting article just came out yesterday on them and their stock (http://retail.seekingalpha.com/article/24346). I’ve been fighting for my rebates with OnRebate since August of 2006, have registered complaint with the Better Business Bureau of Florida (where they are already showing as unsatisfactory). I have received six of the seven rebates since starting this effort, and seemed to get activity from them as soon as they get word of the complaint from the BBB.

I think the best way to approach this by calling the United States Postal services Postal Inspectors.Since the mail is being used for these transactions it is there jurisdicition. We need enough people to complain, they usually don’t look into individuals problems, but If enough people file claims they will.
