Firefox problem
Filed under: Computing, General, Technology — nobrainer @ 12:33 pm

Here’s the problem: Occasionally, in the process of opening a page, Firefox just kinda quits. It’s like it stops to think and forgets to start again. And it won’t be one page, it will be any other pages loading in any other tabs as well. I’m reasonably certain it isn’t a connection issue because I can usually open IE7 and have the page loaded before Firefox wakes up from its trance.

Any thoughts?

Firefox 2.x is awful. I don’t know what else to say.

It happened in 1.5 as well. I just upgraded to 2.0 in hopes that the problem had been fixed. It was not.

I have also uninstalled a bunch of extensions without curing the problem.

It would be nice if extensions could be disabled without being uninstalled.

As usual, I spoke too soon. Extensions can be disabled.
