Bill Frist - Idiot in motion
Filed under: Economics, Hatred, Politics, Technology — nobrainer @ 10:40 pm

“ANWR is the nation’s single greatest prospect for future oil,” Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist said today.

Wrong.

“America can’t afford $3 a gallon gasoline and we can’t afford to depend on sources hostile to the United States.”

Wrong.

Maybe he’s been forced to smoke crack — repeatedly.

Kerry, how would you know about the economic concerns of America? You have yet to join the working class. I would say that I can afford the $3 gasoline. However, I am lower middle class, and my family has had a serious change of lifestyle because of it. So, how does the lower class afford it? What is they have an hour drive to work?

collapse Wha Says:

America, as a whole, cannot afford the gas AND maintain the lifestyle they are currently living. Big difference. If they changed their lifestyle (ride public transportation, or keep driving and give up other things) then yes, they can afford it. I will say I was hittup for the first time in 10 years of driving for gas by a man who obviously was without tremendous means. I went ahead and maxed the limit on the pump to $50 and hooked him up with a few gallons. I figured I was spending it anyway when I pulled in. What a lot of people aren’thtinking about is that they affects are jsut now becoming real. So many folks live by the plastic in their wallet that the bill true out of pocket affect is just beginning to be felt as bills come due and card balances begin to creep up. As for ANWR, what is the answer. Oil Shale doesn’t count. Until gas hits $3+ and stays there, it won’t be justifiable until demand pushes to levels significantly higher than supply, which it still hasn’t done.
