It seems like Miami hasn’t been the same Miami they once were. I think things have shifted a little since Larry Coker became head coach.
Morse fell on the shoulder last Thursday in the first of two practices after what he called an unnecessary “cheap shot” from Hurricanes defensive end Thomas Carroll. . .
But more angry about the perceived cheap shot than the injury, Morse said he went after Carroll and a fight followed. The ruckus eventually involved both the offensive and defensive teams battling each other, according to Morse.
Emphasis mine.
I certainly have no way to gauge the degree of the fight and ruckus, as NDN [RR] seems to be the only report on the issue. There is no way for me to imagine how a fight amongst teammates can be good for a team. So while Coker is 44-6, his seasons have included 0, 1, 2, and 3 losses chronologically. This is certainly a bad trend. However his team is regarded as being talent rich. Although it might only be a minor blip, Miami seems to have an overall downward trajectory. Will this season prove to be more of the same?

I fear we’ll hear the statement, “The Miami team had some trouble coming together at first,
but a blood lust for revenge they just exacted on the Clemson Tigers has seen a whole new
Hurricane team.”
I hope we hear, “Well, its three weeks into the season and Miami still can’t get their act together.
Amazingly, the Clemson Tigers are pouncing on every opportunity-and with 9 freshmen starters
in key positions, Clemson looks to have a sweet fours years ahead.”
