The coolest thing EVER (lately at least)
Filed under: General, Random — nobrainer @ 7:27 pm

I can’t believe I forgot to mention this in my post about my trip to Charleston. In my defense, however, it really has no relation any other part the of trip.

As was posted, we played a very early round of golf the morning of the wedding. Well the men’s restroom had a limited supply of paper towels and a hand dryer. This, however, was no typical hand dryer. No, they had the Xlerator. Instead of the typical warm breeze that doesn’t really dry your hands, the Xlerator employs heated gale force winds to remove anything that doesn’t specifically belong on your hands. As such, any water remaining from washing one’s hands is quickly removed. What makes it even cooler, though, is that you can see your own skin rippling — much like what you see in videos of people who are skydiving.

On the whole, it’s pretty cool to begin with. Plus, it actually dries your hands quickly. That there is a technological marvel and victory.

This was an impressvie machine. I think most of hte engineering crowd there partook twice, just because. However, should anyone in Charlston claim wind damage following a nautral event, I want to make sure that power to all these locally installed machines was cut off before an insurance check is cut. As Ron White says, “It’s not THAT the wind is blowing, but WHAT the wind is blowing.” My skin moved plenty as my hand was forced downwards, I could imagine what small pieces of wood could have been doing.

The King of Prussia United Artist movie theater also employs the Xlerator. First time I’d ever seen it and it was amusing to watch gents leap back in fright as the thing tried to blow their outstretched hands through the floor.

Now, I’m not endorsing this in any way, shape or form, but it might be cool, if you’re the posessor of young male children, to have them stand directly under the Xlerator and note the effects.
