Security Deposit

Believe it or not, but the full deposits from 300 Woodland are being returned.

I can only imagine how much damage we could account for if we sat down and put our heads together.

I will take my money, and giggle like a child who got away with something big. Tehehe.

hello business!

In the last two nights we have gotten killed at work. It’s been the busiest I’ve seen in a long time. In the process, I’ve racked up nearly $120 in tips in two nights.

I believe it’s all due to the Olive Garden joke on Letterman a few nights back.

GO OG!

And to make it better, one of the dumbass hostesses will probably be fired. Generally the closing host(ess) stays until about all the guests have left. Well this girl, at 10, locks the door and just leaves. There may have even been tables waiting to be sat. The better part is that the manager on duty has a list of host(esse)s that she wants to fire. This summer may be getting better, and quickly.

One other thing about a previous post

So I mentioned the new job a co-worker recently received. After a few days of work, the deal was exposed for just how raw it is… shitty work, pay based off all commission, and a mandatory move to Houston. Apparently none of this was mentioned before the work was begun. Fuck it; I was right. I should be paid to run other people’s lives… now THAT would be worth 55g/yr.

So it’s been a while…

I’ll keep this short. It occurred to me today that one day I will work in an environment where I will be surrounded by extremely intelligent people. I imagined how nice it will be to not have to deal with the stupid things that many of my current co-workers do. However, when a smart person does do something stupid it’s going to really piss people off. At least you can count on a stupid person to do something stupid.

Also, aside from WildBoyz and Viva la Bam, MTV Sucks!

So after about four months, my strategy is bearing fruit. What strategy you ask? I had a feeling you’d want details. Well in starting my work at the OG I kept details of my personal life to myself, and made it a point to not hit on any of the girls. This was quite beneficial as most of the ones I liked had boyfriends who also worked in the restaurant. I saved myself a lot of shame there. Finally I’ve got one of them talking me up big time, and it looks like something good can come of it. This is not the source of my confusion, however. She just landed a job with some marketing/promotional company. After 8 to 12 months of training at around 30g/yr, she’ll be paid 55g/yr annually. Yes, I did just say 55 (fifty-five). This is based off a communications degree from a liberal arts college. Additionally, she didn’t even graduate high in her class. I guess I should have searched out an engineering job up here. If she’s making that much, I reckon I should be worth about 75g/year easy. Hell, after my masters I should be able to clear six figures. In the end though, something tells me that the deal will not be nearly as sweet as it sounds. If, however, I am wrong, I will be PISSED!

Times they are a changin

About a month ago I changed around the programmed stations on my car’s radio. It has 7 open spots: 4 primary and 3 secondary. The 4 primary stations are all now country with my old stand-bys taking a step back. I don’t know what has happened to me. I guess the opinions laid on me when I was 15 have finally struck. Perhaps I just really miss living in the South.

Anyway, I’ve signed my lease for my new apartment in Virginia. Before the free month’s rent, the cost of this 1 bedroom apartment is nearly equal to the entire rent of the old 4 bedroom house in Pendleton. There’s something that just doesn’t seem right about that. On the upside, however, the place is brand new and I’m sure it won’t have “pet stains” or holes in the walls caused by friends passing out and putting their heads through the drywall. The lease starts August 1. It won’t be too long until I’m taking a UHaul through the mountains to my home of the next couple years.
